I truly appreciate the labor of love that goes into handmade products. Each piece carries a richness of quality and detail that it becomes its own story. My husband and I recently returned from our 10th anniversary trip to Paris and, while I took many images, these are still on my mind. A friend had recommended visiting Astier de Villatte because she probably knew that I'd fall in love with their handmade ceramics, glasses, and other treasures.
The boutique is on rue St. Honore; the unleveled wood plank floors, doll-size steps, and tiny rooms all add the the charm and warmth of this place. The cups, plates, platters, and cake molds have tiny dimples and indentations that are so gentle on the fingertips. In addition to their own custom pieces, they carry other favorites like John Derian trays and large richly scented candles. When in Paris, you may want to include Astier de Villatte on your things to see. And, it's conveniently located near Le Meurice, the perfect place for a rest and drink while you admire on all your handmade purchases.
