I certainly like reading about all the orange, rust, and camel palettes from the Paris and New York shows, but the standout shades for me were fluoro. This, sometimes called, hypercolor is making a come back this season and oh how fun! Think bright but not blinding.
"Fluoro colour has traditionally been associated with street fashion and the youth market. But this season fluoro grew up, from the vivid laser-cut leather at Christopher Kane to the feminine brights at Proenza Schouler," says Lucinda Chambers, Vogue fashion director.
For a daily dose of fluoro, this green puffer is great for those chilly evenings or your next trip to the snow.
I also like this mildly fluoro dress by Thakoon. It's 50% off, and there is only one left in size 8. So hurry!
Colors of the World
“Made in Italy - who cares? It’s not a brand of strength if you have to defend your work. Mine is a political statement and it comes from a personal appreciation of originality.” Miuccia Prada
Prada will soon launch "Made in" limited edition items handcrafted in Scotland, India, Japan, and Peru. Expect to see colorful handwoven shoes and bags as well as whimsical dresses and hand woven Scottish kilts.
Just for Fun
I typically carry black bags but like to accessorize in color. So, I absolutely adore these fortune cookie coin purses that are so stylish in all their shades from muted to deep. Save a few for those special birthdays and stuff with customized fortunes to surprise the celebrant! You can pre-order for delivery on February 22. I think worth the wait.
